Boy George is back.
Eighties icon Boy George, currently touring to promote his first album in 18 years, will headline one of the biggest parties of the week during the upcoming Gay Games in Cleveland.
Organizers announced today that the entertainer will top the bill at at the official Gay Games 9 White Party, scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11 at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Downtown Cleveland. The Games, an international event staged every four years, will take place in Cleveland and Akron from Aug. 9 to 16.
Boy George’s new album is titled, “This is What I Do.” In Cleveland, he will be joined by DJ Marc Vedo and Cleveland-based electronic dance DJ/producer Evan Evolution.
Prior to the White Party, there will be a VIP White Carpet Event aboard the Nautica Queen dining cruise ship. The two-hour scenic party cruise will include music from DJ Mike Gunn.
Tickets to the White Party are $40 pre-sale to $250 VIP. They’re now on sale at bit.ly/GayGamesTix or wantickets.com/BoyGeorge. For every ticket sold, $1 will go to an LGBT community fund that’s being established within the Cleveland Foundation.

• Lance Bass, the Pointer Sisters and Andrea McArdle will perform for the Games’ opening ceremonies on Aug. 9 at Quicken Loans Arena.
• There’s a 10-hour dance party planned on Aug. 10 to benefit the AIDS Task Force of Greater Cleveland.
• Drag star Detox, openly gay rapper Le1f, the Scissor Sisters’ Ana Matronic, singer Bright Light Bright Light, and JD Samson & MEN will perform during the week in the area of Downtown Cleveland that will become Festival Village.
